Kristin Arundel - the Backstory

I was a Superintendent Registrar for many years, and during that time I conducted a lot of different ceremonies at some of the most spectacular of Cornwall's wedding venues, such as Polhawn Fort, St.Mellion, The China Fleet, Whitsand Bay Hotel, Wringford Down , Mount Edgcumbe House and the Edgcumbe Arms.

During that time, I had a huge number of cards and letters from various couples, and sometimes from their relatives and friends as well, thanking me for my incredibly beautiful ceremonies. So - I decided that I would quite like to go on doing what I am so good at, even if I would no longer be delivering legal, civil weddings for the local council.

Over the years, many couples have told me how restricted they felt by the legal limitations on what may, and especially what may not, be included in a civil marriage ceremony. Now that I am no longer constrained by the law, I am able to create exactly the kind of ceremony you have always dreamed of, whether you have in mind a Celebration of a Wedding, here or abroad, a Civil Partnership Ceremony, a Re-Affirmation of Vows, your Anniversary or any other celebration you might wish to enjoy , or even a combination of two or more of the above!

If you are not really religious, but would like to add a hymn, a reading, or a verse from religious writings like the Bible, the Qur'an, the Prophet, the Rig-Veda or any other religious work, now you can.

If you would like to have pagan or spiritual elements included, now you can.

So, if you want to include alternative ceremony elements such as a blessing of the hands, jumping over the broom, crushing a glass under your heel, special candle lighting, an exchange of roses or a family garland, now you can.

Once you have decided what you would like, I can create your own uniquely personal celebration around those choices.

If you would like your ceremony to take place on a headland or in a cave in Cornwall, on a beach in Hampshire, by a Kentish river, in a barn in Leicestershire, in a garden in Devon, or even in your own home, now you can.

If you would like a wonderful celebration in a venue which is not licensed for civil weddings, now you can.

If you have always dreamed of having a ceremony created to embrace and to enhance your own choices of words, vows, readings, songs and music, now you can.

If you want to go abroad to celebrate your wedding, on a boat on the Nile, by the sea in Iceland, in a garden in Spain, by a lake in France or wherever – well now, with my expert help, you can. Contact me for more information.
